What you will experience
Riverside woodland accompanies a stretch shaped by weirs, rocks and natural pools. Poço da Cesta, with its rocky walls and deep water, gives the finish its character; this is a different route from Water Walking in Góis.
Along the route
The proposed route starts at Quinta da Mata, at Poço da Mata, and continues on foot and by swimming to Poço da Cesta. It involves negotiating weirs and rocks. Jumps are optional; slides depend on river flow and the group's conditions.
Included equipment & guiding
The programme provides for technical supervision, a neoprene suit and socks, helmet and harness. The outing proposal specifies access transport.
What to bring
Bring water, a snack or light lunch, swimwear, a change of clothes, towel, flip-flops and substantial-soled footwear for moving through the water. Use a retaining strap if you bring glasses.
Requirements & preparation
The route calls for agility and stamina for walking and swimming in the river. The proposal should take account of participants' experience and limitations.
Meeting & logistics
Casal Novo, in the Poço da Cesta area. There are no changing facilities at the meeting location; transport to the start forms part of planning the outing.
