What you will experience
In some sections the water runs beneath the rocks before reappearing in pools and waterfalls. Further downstream the river narrows between schist ledges; this sequence of settings distinguishes Teixeira from the Lousã canyons.
Along the route
The approach follows a water conduit. The descent begins with two consecutive abseils, crosses a broad pool and continues into a narrower schist section. The final drop allows a jump or abseil according to the technical assessment, followed by a short return walk.
Included equipment & guiding
Neoprene suit and socks, helmet, harness and descender for technical progression. The proposal identifies waterproof equipment used to support the route.
Requirements & preparation
The programme involves rope descents and deep pools. Share your canyoning experience and relevant limitations to plan progression; this is not a promise that every abseil can be avoided.
Meeting & logistics
São João da Serra, Oliveira de Frades. The approach and short final walk should be included in planning the group outing.
