What you will experience
The route follows the Zêzere and the glacial valley’s landforms. The circular version climbs from Manteigas to Covão d’Ametade and returns through Candeeira Valley; the shorter linear option follows only the riverside valley.
Along the route
Choose the longer circular hike or shorter linear route, both with moderate slopes. For the linear option, the endpoint and return arrangements are agreed when planning the programme.
Requirements & preparation
Good stamina, especially for the circular version; spring to autumn is suggested.
Meeting & logistics
The circular option meets in Manteigas. The linear option has a meeting arranged around the selected route and return.
